Paws, Claws & More started this outreach program in hopes to help stop the over population of animals in the shelters. By helping owners when they may feel that they need to surrender their pet as they cannot afford to feed them anymore.
Paws, Claws & More wants pet owners to know that there is help out there. We are hoping to help those in need and give them a sense of relief and hope.
Paws, Claws & More assist struggling families and the homeless in Oakland County and the surrounding Counties with dogs or cats food as well as other small animals.
Often times we find that those families need a bit more help for their pets. They also may need, new bedding, leashes, collars, clothing etc. in addition to pet food.
Sometimes pets may need their shots and/or need to be spayed or neutered, need dog licensing or microchipping. We provide information about other low income programs they may need for their pets.
Paws, Claws & More doesn't require any income guidelines, We take your word for that you need the food. If you are in need, and want to receive food. You will need to make an appointment. By calling (248) 885-3651. Please keep in mind that we are run by volunteers and hours of operation are subjected to change without notice. Do not bring your pet with you for your appointment.
Your animals do not have to be spayed or neutered prior to coming into our program. However, if your pet isn't fixed, we will work with you to help get that done.
Your pets will have to be spayed or neutered within 3 months of being in our program and receiving food.
When you come to the food distribution location the volunteer will ask to see your ID and information on what animals are in the house. If you need assistance with vaccines spaying or neutering, we would love to help.
After your third visit, you will need to have proof of spayed/neutered for EVERY animal in the household. If you do not have it with you, you will be allowed 1 month of food. The following month you must bring the proof of spaying/neutering to get any food. You can obtain proof of spaying/neutering for your records, with the county or from your veterinarian.
If you need assistance with the Spaying/ Neutering, we will give a 3 month grace period to have it done. Paws, Claws n More will not continue to provide food for pets or families without proof of spaying/neutering.
We TRY to give enough food to last all the animals in the household for a month. This could vary, based on the inventory we have on hand.
You may come to get food each month (every 4 weeks). If any information about your pet should change, please let us know each time.
